Gadiel Gongora

Born in Seville, Spain, Gadiel is passionate about literature in all its forms. He graduated in English Studies with a focus on literary and cultural studies from the University of Seville in 2023. A year later, He completed his Master's degree in Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies with a specialization in English, both degrees obtained from the same university. In 2022, he was recruited by the research group in the Department of English and American Literature at the University of Seville, HUM-201 "James Joyce, Narrative Evolution and Other Repercussions," focused on the cultural movement of modernism. Additionally, he worked as an intern in the department, preparing annotated bibliographies with an emphasis on queer and modernist studies, as a linguistic assistant and briefly performed the role of coordinator at the Texas Tech University Center in Seville.

He also holds two certificates for presenting papers at the University of Seville: "Gender Identity in Virginia Woolf's Orlando" and "Transintersectional Identities: Kai Cheng Thom and Akweke Emezi." (2022 and 2024, respectively). 

Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Literature and Cultural Studies in the Spanish program at Texas Tech University, Lubbock.

Research interests; thesis topic/title:

Modernism, Gender Studies, Masculinities, Trans and Queer Studies, and Poetry.
