Allisson Restrepo

Spanish Graduate

Year of MA/PhD: First year Ph.D student in Hispanic Linguistics

Allisson is a Heritage Spanish speaker raised in Kansas with familial ties to Colombia, South America. Her upbringing in an area with a limited representation of her cultural background has fueled her commitment to advancing her education in language acquisition, focusing particularly on Heritage Language instruction. As an undergraduate student, Allisson gained experience by teaching Spanish to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade levels. During her master's experience, she led and instructed several university-level courses in Spanish language foundations. With experience spanning from early childhood to university-level students, Allisson aspires to pursue a position as a professor in higher education. Allisson is currently a Graduate Part-time Instructor at Texas Tech University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics.
